_____The first Busway® was inaugurated in Nantes. The second line was inaugurated in 2008 in Maubeuge. The development of this service constitutes one of the Group’s added values to passenger service.
Tramways inspired Busway®, an innovative solution invented by Transdev. A segregated-lane bus (speed and regularity guaranteed) with a high level of service (accessibility, comfort…) Busway® encompasses all the qualities of a tramway. It is therefore a hybrid solution adapted to cities that already have a tramway and to cities that want to optimise their transport networks.
Think globally
The concept is built around six fundamental principles: compelling service (high-frequency, continuous, regular and express services), guaranteed accessibility on buses and stations, specific buses (dedicated vehicles with easily-recognisable visual identities), well-equipped stations (above-standard facilities and signage), priority at traffic lights and a total quality-based approach for an efficient, sustainable system.
