Putting Their Know-How to Work beyond the Rhine
In Germany, Transdev is present in the regional heavy rail market through EuRailCo. TransRegio is already operating in Rhineland Palatinate (20 trains, 1.3 million km per year). Thanks to the expertise acquired by TransRegio in Germany, EuRailCo plans to continue its development in the German market and in the European countries that are opening to competition in the railway field.
Investing In Promising Markets
TransRegio was also successful in winning a contract that starts in December 2008 for the operation of the line linking Cologne to Mainz along the Rhine, called “Mittelrheinbahn”. This 15-year contract in North Rhine Westphalia represents 3 million kilometres of traffic per year and 16 trains. EuRailCo plans to continue its development in the German market and in other European countries that are opening to competition.
